ASA Sailing School

Internationally recognized for safety and seamanship, the ASA sailing school curriculum, along with our supportive learning environment, knowledgeable staff, and a hands-on approach to instruction will teach you to sail confidently, allowing you to safely skipper or assist as crew on a sailing yacht.

MAXIMUM SAILING TIME
We prefer a student limit of 3 for our ASA101 & 103 courses, insuring maximum time sailing the boat instead of watching others sail, but will make an exception for a family of 3 or 4. Our ASA104 course student limit is 3.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF
95% of our sailing is in the ever-changing conditions of the Atlantic Ocean.

When you sign up for sailing instruction with Myrtle Beach Sailing School not only will you be learning the fundamentals of sailing, you will also be preparing yourself for the "Cruising Lifestyle"!

Our marina is located on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) where you will also learn to sail and navigate in a tight-quartered, heavy boat traffic area, as well as give you hands-on experience with channel markers and current & tidal situations. Our students typically love returning from the ocean and the challenges of navigating through the jetties, locating and staying between the channel markers, trimming the sails properly, then quickly tacking or jibing, all while keeping a lookout for other vessels.

Each lesson includes one of our experienced Instructors that will answer questions while working with you at your pace for an enjoyable learning experience. Course materials, meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages are included in your sailing lesson tuition.

WHERE TO BEGIN?
Most students fall into 1 of 3 categories:
• I have never sailed before
• I have been on a sailboat but did little to nothing in participation
• I have experience sailing and would like to get certifications

American Sailing Association programs have been setup for those that are beginners as well as those that have sailing experience. For those that fall into the first or second category, sail over to our courses page. If you already know how to sail and may be interested in receiving your ASA Certifications please call us at 843-241-6874 to discuss if you meet the ASA Challenge requirements.
