CCU Sailing Club
Founded in 2015, Coastal Carolina University (CCU) Sailing Club was created to promote and develop sailing opportunities for students in the greater Myrtle Beach area.
Along with Georgetown Maritime Museum's youth sailing program, Myrtle Beach Sailing School (MBSS) has partnered with the CCU Sailing Club to assist in growing their sailing program by combining to offer dinghy and monohull sailing opportunities.
MBSS offers Sailing Club members deeply discounted sailing lessons through our American Sailing Association program to assure they are properly trained for monohull sailing. We also assist in student crew placement for twice-a-month local sailboat races conducted by the Long Bay Sailing Association.
Why Donate?
When you make a donation to Coastal Carolina University Sailing Club you are providing an opportunity to introduce students to the lifelong sport of sailing and allow those with experience to hone their sailing and racing skills.
The success of their sailing club is largely due to those who support the program by donating their time, financial contributions, or use of sailboats for practice or racing.
Through a generous donation, our school has accepted a 34ft sailboat on behalf of the CCU Sailing Club to be used by students for instruction, daysailing, practice, and local races. As part of their membership, students are required to volunteer a set amount of hours for maintaining the boat and it's systems. Along with funding ASA Certification lessons for students and other club obligations, your financial contribution(s) will partly go towards maintaining this sailboat.
