ASA 118 (docking) and ASA 104 (bareboat) were fantastic experiences with Jason (owner and instructor) and the team at Myrtle Beach Sailing School. Their approach to education is sincere, patient, and hands-on. Our class spent time discussing the material in the books, reviewing, and asking questions; and then we were straight out onto the water for the learning-by-doing parts. I can't say enough about how inclusive and productive the teaching style is. But, perhaps more importantly, the adventure our class had in ASA 104 while sailing from Myrtle Beach to Bald Head Island was wild! We established genuine camaraderie as we faced the serious, ever-changing, and incredibly fun realities of bareboat cruising. I have taken ASA courses at 3 different schools across the US, and Myrtle Beach Sailing School is over and above the most thorough and rewarding

We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience under sail than we had taking our ASA 101 course with Jason. Neither my wife nor I had ever set foot on a sailboat before registering for the course, and we couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. In addition to being supremely knowledgeable, Jason was extremely patient, positive, and supportive throughout our steep learning curve. When we lost a chunk of sailing time during our scheduled days due to a lack of wind, Jason worked diligently with us (and our schedules) to arrange a make-up day on the water to complete our course requirements. Thanks to Jason we discovered a love of sailing — and we will definitely be returning to Myrtle Beach Sailing School to continue the ASA course progression (ASA 103/104) next year.

Had a great sailing experience with Captain Tom! We were able to bring our own lunch and drinks. Captain Tom brought us our drinks as we sat at the front of the boat. Much appreciated!

Excellent ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising course with Jason, Clay and Ryan. Learned many skills throughout the 4 days. Reefing under sail in moderate winds was a great test. I still have much to learn like the finer points of sail trim, when, why, and how. I will return.

We had a great experience with the Myrtle Beach Sailing School. We did the combined ASA 101,103, and 104 courses over 7 days and got to log some excellent days of sailing along with practicing important skills like sail trim, docking, anchoring, and man overboard drills. Captain Jason was an excellent instructor and patiently guided us through all of the important lessons in operating a big boat. Our overnight trip to Bald Head Island gave us a real feel for cruising under sail. I hope to go back and take one of the Coastal Sailing Adventures.

A friend and I did the 101-103-104 sequence with the owner, Jason Cox, and we could not have had a better mentor. This was a serious, no-BS course with lots of hands-on experience, guided by a knowledgeable, patient, and always cheerful teacher. We were blessed with pretty good weather, and Jason made use of every minute.

My boyfriend and I took a private charter with Captain Tom! It was very last minute when I booked with them but Jason was very friendly and communicated with us thru the entire booking process and answered all of our questions. If you are looking for a unique experience on the water for a couple hours I would definitely recommend them! We helped steer the boat and pulled up the sails. We packed a cold lunch and some drinks as well. Snacks and water are complimentary! We had a blast going out on the ocean and seeing the dolphins! Thanks so much Jason and Tom! Keep sailing on.. we will be back!

An experience we will never forget. Jason & Jon made our engagement sailing trip the most memorable day of our lives. The communication & planning is so thorough and they made sure everything went off without a hitch. From top to bottom, I would give them 10 stars if Google would let me. Would highly recommend to everyone looking for a memorable day on the water with an amazing crew

Completed ASA 101&103 with Jason. Jason makes learning the skills easy and fun. Picking Bob up after he went overboard was my favorite part.

My husband and I, did a Private sailing charter to Bald Head Island for 2 nights and it was perfect!! Jason communicated throughout the trip(which we really appreciated since this was our first time sleeping on a boat). Jason also rented us a golf cart for our time on the island and that was so nice of him! Captain Tom was just the absolute best!! He is an amazing cook and we felt spoiled!! This trip was exactly what we were looking to experience. We wanted to know what is what like to live aboard before we invest further into Sailing. We will definitely be signing up in the future for their sailing classes! Highly recommend!!

We completed ASA 101 and 103 this week. Jason was very patient, enthusiastic, and professional. We appreciate the quality of the instruction and the passion for sailing!! We are looking forward to further classes and lots of sailing!!!

Highly recommend Myrtle Beach Sailing School for sailing lessons. The live-aboard 6-day intensive 101 and 103 package is the way to go to get you out sailing. Not only did we get to sleep on the boat each night but we were sailing after only one day. Jason was an amazing teacher.

Amazing staff, great service, we used it as charter and took introduction to sailing class. We enjoyed every moment of it, and we will be back. Highly recommended!

Captain Bill took me thru the ASA 101 Course and was a great instructor. Looking forward to developing more skills with the school in the future.
